It’s been almost 2 weeks since I first started using Google Chrome as my only web browser. I previously used Firefox exclusively and I can tell you right now that I haven’t missed Firefox once. Yes, you heard that right and that’s not to suggest users abandoned Firefox. I’m just here to tell you what my experience has been.

Downloading Chrome was simple and easy to do. My book marks from Firefox came across with out a hitch. The user interface is easy on the eyes and the brain. I am somewhat of a geek so it was a fairly easy learning curve for me. I then went to Google Extensions and decided to load a number of extensions that would be useful for me. You just click on the ones you like and press the install button and they’re automatically added to Chrome. What I really like about Extensions is you don’t have to restart the browser for them to work like you do with Firefox.

Here’s what I currently have loaded right now and I used by Picnik extension to capture this image:

What I like the most about Google Chrome is the vast reduction in resources it uses. I have a huge increase in available memory from when I used Firefox. Web pages load faster. I can view many different types of media including word, pdf, power point and many other documents. My Cooliris page is ten times quicker in loading.

I’m really liking Google Chrome. So much so that I’ve decided to make it my default browser. If you’re using Chrome I’d love to hear your experiences using it as well. If you haven’t tried it yet then go ahead. I think you will be pleasantly suprised just as I have.

(Note to FTC – Google Chrome is free to download, I do not work at Google, and I have not been paid in Google T-shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads, thumb drives or cold hard cash)

I’ve had a fascination with technology since 9th grade and when I got my first computer, a TI99-4A, a whole new world had opened up for me. I remember writing programs in TI Basic and then sneaking into our local community college and using punch cards to program as well. Man, was that cool! We’ve come a long way baby!

Enterepreneurship and Business has been a part of my life as well. My professional life has spanned Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology & Management. I’ve been on the inside as well as consulted to companies from startup to multi-billion dollar corporations. It is joyous when people from all walks of life build lasting value for people by delivering products and services that make a difference. The individual power to create is awesome.

As for the Life part? I promise it won’t be the modern day equivalent of making you watch slideshows from my vacations or opening presents on Christmas, or when I decided to walk my dogs around the block.

So with that being said I’ve decided to blog about Life, Entrepreneurship, Tech, & Biz besides politics. The main reason for doing this is balance in my life, both online and off.

I’ll confess, I’m doing this for selfish reasons as well. I’ve always been a believer in what goes around comes back a hundred fold. I’ll stop learning when I’m dead. Learning is a never ending “joy-ney” for me. So I’m expecting to get awesomeness back from you.
