America is NOT a Democracy
The Statute of The Republic
Contrary to what the Democrats/Liberals/Progressives want Americans to believe, this great country is not a Democracy. America is a Republic.
First it’s important to understand what the origins & definitions of a Democracy & a Republic are:
Democracy originates from two greek words. Demos – “people” and Kratos “power or rule”. So a Democracy is where the people rule. In essence, a Democracy is majority rule.
Republic originates from the Latin – Res “Thing” and Publica “Public”. So the “public thing” in America is the Rule of Law, The Constitution.
So if you have a Democracy then the majority rules. This is dangerous as the Majority has no restraint on it and it can rule how it sees fit. You don’t need a Constitution to rule. This is the Left’s ultimate goal and you can hear them promote it daily. The phrases “We Won” and “We have a mandate” and “We are the majority” all lead to the dangerous and destructive nature of a democracy. As you can see in America’s current situation the Democrats are telling you that we will make the rules and you, the people, will live with them.
Just today Obama reminded the Democratic Party that they are still the majority. Sorry Prez, our government doesn’t work that way and you’re not the majority in America – Conservatives # 1.
Our Founding Fathers were so prescient in not allowing a democratic form of government. In the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and all 50 State Constitutions, the word “democracy” never appears. There’s a reason for that.
The U.S. Government’s job is not to rule by majority. It’s sole purpose is to protect the legal and natural rights of the citizens. This is why the Democrats hate the Constitution so much. It’s why the Thorn of Progressivism is the 9th and 10th Amendment of the Constitution.
America, don’t let the destructive nature of Progressivism take this country over.
When a Democrat/Liberal/Progressive or any other person tells you ‘majority rules’, tell them “Not in my Republic!”
