uncle-sam-cartoon-pelosi-reid-obamaIt’s amazing to me. What is “It”? The total lack of critical thinking and common sense displayed by millions of people who support this monstrosity called ObamaCare.  Allow me to share the following observations:

  • The rising cost of health care over 4+ decades is DIRECTLY correlated to the growth of Government intrusion into our health care. Public spending (Government Intrusion) accounts for between 45% and 56.1% of U.S. health care spending.

govtspend

So why do millions of people believe that the government takeover of 1/6th of our economy is going to solve the problem that big government produced?

  • The current legislation is going add 47 million more people to the health care rolls. Let’s make no mistake about it people, this legislation is about government control of your health care. Jim Simpson, a former Whitehouse staff economist and budget analyst has a great post about this that you can read here. In it he states:

“So consider $7,500 a reasonable estimate of per capita cost. Assuming this same average cost for all these new folks gets us an annual price tag of about $350 billion, ($7,500 x 47 million) or a ten year cost of $3.5 trillion.”

So how can anyone state that a government who has NEVER produced a deficit neutral program call the current legislation deficit neutral? Even the CBO states the following on it’s estimate of ObamaCare:

Those estimates are subject to substantial uncertainty. CBO 11/18/2009

  • The current legislation in the house has $500 billion in NEW taxes, almost $500 billion in Medicare cuts, and STILL leaves MILLIONS of Americans uninsured. It doesn’t even address the $73,000,000,000,000.oo, yes that’s $73 TRILLION, of Medicare liabilities.

So please tell me what the current legislation has to do with real reform? Does $500 billion in new taxes make your personal deficit neutral? Nope.

  • There are numerous “Demonstration” projects in the current legislation that purport to “try” out certain “ideas” to see if Government Run Health Care works.  Why? We have ample proof that government run health care programs fail. Nope, I’m not talking about other countries, I’m talking about America. You can read about the demonstrated failure of government run healthcare in America here.

Why would anyone vote for a government run healthcare system that’s been factually proven (in their own country) to fail repeatedly in the past?

I’m really amazed at the millions of Americans who continue to support the monstrosity that ObamaCare is after considering the facts above.  Is the problem that these people can’t think logically for themselves? Is it because they’ve never applied critical thinking and common sense because they don’t know how? Could millions of ObamaCare supporters just not give a damn about the oppressive burden this legislation will put on future generations of America?

If it’s none of the reasons above then the only logical conclusion is that the ObamaCare supporters actually do want to destroy this great country.

There’s one thing that’s sure. Any way I look at it, I’m amazed at the abject lack of critical thinking and common sense from ObamaCare supporters.
