When someone presents their head on a silver platter a number of questions come to mind:

  • He didn’t actually write that did he?
  • Does he even check what he actually writes?
  • Is he so morally bankrupt that he decides just to spew lies and put them out publicly for all to see?
  • Is he that stupid?
  • How did I get so lucky with someone who so blatantly misleads people?

So who is the ‘He’ that I’m talking about? None other than Alex Koppelman who runs the ‘War Room’ page for Salon.com.

Salon's Shining Star - Alex Koppelman

Alex, being bored and not knowing what to write about, decided to pen an article on October 1st entitled “Right fears secret abortions for 13-year-olds in reform”.

The article comments on Michelle Bachman’s statements about school clinics becoming “controlled by Planned Parenthood and turned into sex clinics that promote abortions free of parental consent for 13-year-old girls”.

In the article, Koppelman writes this:

The falsehood seems to have begun with a blogger named Peter Fleckenstein, writing on his blog Common Sense From a Common Man back in July. Fleckenstein alleged that Page 992 of the House healthcare bill contained language that would lead to the establishment of school clinics that could advise young girls to have abortions without parental input.

It seems the falsehood began with Koppelman.  You see Alex, I never wrote that. Here’s what I actually did write:

PG 994 School Based Health Clinic will be integrated into the school environment. Say GOVT Brainwash!

PG 993 Govt will establish school based health clinics. Ur kids wont have a chance.

Nothing about abortion is there now Koppelman? In fact I NEVER once mentioned abortion in my post which you can view the original here – The HC Monstrosity – All 1,018 Pages.

I’m guessing that Koppelman missed a lot of journalism and ethics classes at the University of Pennsylvania.

Just wondering Koppelman, how can we believe a single written word you spew in an article when you flat out demonstrably lie to everyone without a care for ethics or actual checking of facts?

Just wondering Koppelman, how does someone with the lack of ethics and journalism skills like yourself get a job running anything at Salon.com or any other company?

In answer to my questions above, in order: Yes, No, Yes, Yes, I don’t know but thank you!

Koppelman, it is said that no one can take away your integrity but yourself.  Congratulations! You’ve just accomplished that.
