We the People, through the U.S. Constitution, have instructed Congress to pay the debts of the United States.  This instruction is not to any party, it is directly enumerated to ALL members of Congress.  The Congress of the United States has not only failed the American people by disregarding their duties, they are willfully violating the Constitution of the United States of America.

We have a President that tells us our debt is unsustainable, yet his actions have been to create more and more debt.  We have a Congress that is out of control, literally.  Think about this, Since the convening of the 111th Congress, not one piece of legislation has been introduced that will CUT spending of  U.S. taxpayer dollars.  I’m not talking about slowing the growth of spending, I’m talking about CUTTING spending.

Last week President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress.  He demonstrated an absolute complete lack in understanding of the most basic fundamentals of finance and economics when talking about his public option plan:

Mr. President, I taught a Jr. Achievement 3rd grade elementary class a while back.  The curriculum was designed to educate the children on how a business is started and operated.  We used a lemonade stand business throughout our course.  Mr. President, every one of those 3rd graders can tell you that profits are not, nor have ever been part of overhead.  A 3rd grader knows more about finance than you, a Harvard educated adult. Aren’t you embarrassed sir?

Last Monday, Sept 7th, 2009 a story was published on “The Hill” website – “Senate must raise debt ceiling above $12T” That’s T for Trillion.  In August, President Obama’s Secretary of Treasury, Tim “The Mad Hatter” Geithner called on the Senate to raise the federal debt ceiling.  This will be the 4th time in two years that Congress will raise the debt ceiling.

In other words, this will be the 4th time that Congress has violated it’s Constitutional duties to the American people.

So what do “WE THE PEOPLE” do?  Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge has put together A Zero Hedge Petition: Break Debt Habit, Freeze the Debt Ceiling. I encourage  every American to go and sign this petition immediately.

This is not a Democrat or Republican issue we’re talking about folks.  This is about the willful participation of Congress and the Administration in destroying the future of our children.
