Yes you heard right.  I am for Universal Reform… of the Government of these great United States of America.  Let’s first understand the definition of “reform”:

Reform – to put or change into an improved form or condition

If one applies the actual definition of reform to the current Congress and the current Administration we see that there is a complete failure in duty.  Is implementing a proven and failed cap & trade policy that literally destroys millions of jobs and does very little in terms of conservation reform? Nope.  Is implementing a stimulus plan based on proven failed Keynesian experiments across the globe reform? Negative.  Is growing the deficit and debt by the current Administration and Congress to the largest in world history reform? That would be a no.

Is the current Administration and Democrat controlled Congress’ Health Care Bill one of reform? To even suggest so would be laughable at best.  Set aside political affiliations folks; take a minute and put on your “I’m an American” hat and breathe deep.  All cleansed now from political affiliations, good. Now remember the definition of reform.

Ask yourself this – “Does HR 3200 reform the quality of Health Care?”  The answer is a resounding no.  There is nothing in the bill that provides for a better quality of service and products in health care for Americans.  So now we can cross off the mantra that this bill or any Government run health care system is reform.  We merely have to look at Canada, where the head of the  Canadian Medical Association, Dr Doig, said just last week that their system is imploding.  We have the NHS system in England to provide evidence of failure as well too – Sentenced to Death on the NHS.

Here’s another question for you – “Does HR 3200 reduce costs for every American?”  The answer is emphatically no.  Let’s go directly to the Director of the CBO:

There you have it and politically unbiased.  There’s absolutely no cost savings now or in the future in regards to HR 3200.

Wait, let’s ask ourselves – “Is Medicare reformed in HR 3200?” Darn. Nope. Nada. Zip. The Big Donut.  Medicare is currently facing a $38 Trillion dollar unfunded deficit and even the President says it will go bankrupt if we don’t do something.  Well nothing is being done in HR 3200 in regards to reform.

One last question we need to ask – “Is their Tort reform in HR 3200?” Oh hell no.  You don’t even have to read the bill to know that.  Howard Dean tells you straight up:

Dean tells us flat out that hey Congress doesn’t want to make the trial lawyers angry. Doesn’t Congress work for us? Apparently not – “Lawyers & Lobbyists, Money to Congress”

So we’ve asked questions and we’ve now established that the President’s and Congress’ Health Care Bill does nothing in regards to reform.  It doesn’t reform Health Care nor Health Insurance.

So what is needed for true Health Care reform? Simple. Limited Government & Individual Freedom.  I didn’t say no Government, I said limited Government. The sham that the current Congress and Administration is foisting on the American people is not reform. It’s plain and clear destruction of the freedoms and liberties of every American.

We need true health care reform.  This includes – Tort Reform, HSAs, Overhaul of Medicare & Medicaid, Portablility (Let Health Insurance Companies sell across the country), Pre-existing exclusions reform, covering the 5-8 Million that are chronically uninsured, and personal responsibility for one’s own health.

The following links are proposals and plans that have been put forth for real health care reform.  Some have already been implemented and proven to work.  In the coming days I’ll devote a separate blog post to some of them.

Radical Prescription – “A Physicians Perspective on Health Care Reform”

John Mackey – Whole Foods CEO Blog – “Health Care Reform”

Steven Burd – CEO of Safeway “How Safeway is Cutting Health-Care Costs. Market-based solutions can reduce the national health-care bill by 40%”

Heritage Org – “Principles for Effective Health Reform”

I hope in the coming days and weeks the great people of America can come together and discuss true reform.  I ask you to keep on your “I’m an American” hat while reading and discussing these proposals. Health care knows no political affiliations, knows no race, and knows no religion.
