You wrote: Hmmm “the tyranny of a king who thought he knew best how to govern everything”. Now who does that currently remind you of?

That kind of reminds me of only one man: George W. Bush. He actually said, "If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator."

Name one thing that Pres. Obama has done that is tyrannical? Wanting health care for all Americans, rich or poor, how in the world is this tyrannical?

It seem to me that students of the Constitution, those who claim to be experts on it, forget that that document was written in a much different time in history. At the time this country was attempting to get out from under a foreign sovereign, and a revolution was going on in France to remove its king. A country governed for the people by the people is a beautiful ideal and one any country should want.

But the United States is not governed by its people and hasn't been for most of history because the majority of its people have little to no say over how to live their lives. Civil rights, labor laws, social protections like Social Security and Medicaid have helped a lot of Americans who previously didn't have a say to take control of their own lives. But still today many Americans' lives are limited by bad health which reduces them to poverty, jobs that don't pay enough, corporations that suck them dry and don't offer them enough time to even do something about the state the country is in even if they wanted to. Laws are written to mostly benefit big business and people who already have enough power and wealth. When will someone stand up for the little guy? That is what this president is doing. Wake up and stop quoting the over 200 year old document that supposedly put an immense limit on government (even though it has been proven in many other democratic countries that a limit to government's influence is not the way to have a true democracy run by the people and for the people), and stop spreading fear such as this website does, stop making false assumptions about a president who would like to see some justice for all people, not just those who can afford it.

You ask: “With what I have been just reminded, do I wish to continue actively allowing the abrogation and oppression of my freedoms and liberties by the few who lust for power and control over me?”

The few who lust for power and control over me... like the insurance companies, like the health care industry, like the corporations who decide that offering health insurance coverage is just too costly and cuts into their profit. Their lust is greed. Financial greed. Wake up.

Perhaps you might want to research why the Constitution was created.
Additionally, you're talking about statutory creations outside of the
Constitution. Yes we the people voted for others to represent us. They have
lost their way and have forgotten that they have limited powers.

You also should read up on the Constitution and get a handle on it. It
mentions nothing about pass laws that "provide for the common welfare. What
the Constitution does is limit the powers of Congress. It's within those
limited powers that Congress is instructed to provide for "the general
welfare of the United States".

It makes no reference to growing the Government so that a select few can do
as they see fit and as they determine "the general welfare of the United
States".

I'll remind the people once again:

"The powers that we the people give to Congress are designed to limit the
Federal Government. These are instructions by us to Congress on how to
provide for the general welfare of the United States. Nothing more, nothing
less.

This is what is meant by providing for the general welfare of the United
States. In doing so, our unalienable rights are not abrogated or oppressed
by the few in Government who lust for power and control over the many
citizens of this great country."

If you want to make light of what is currently going on that's your right.
Limited Government has a completely different meaning that being "so mall
you can drown it in a bathtub (like a puppy)" theatrics you portray.

I do agree with you that We the People allowed this to happen. My blog post
is a reminder for just that reason. We the People can also disallow that
from ever happening again.

Along with the rest of the stuff the government does that's not in the Constitution, you should include the Louisiana purchase, the Gadsden purchase, the Seward purchase, The Air Force, the FCC, the FDIC, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Eisenhower interstate system, national parks, and perhaps most notably, the Internet, created by DARPA for use by intelligence agencies and then turned over to the public. If government is so small you can drown it in a bathtub (like a puppy), then it is too small to benefit the American People. We made a Constitution for a reason- because private industry is just not capable of advancing this country the way a government can. The free market (which is not mentioned at all in the constitution) either cannot or simply does not offer everything the public needs, and to that end, we elect leaders to pass laws that "provide for the common welfare". Sound familiar? The reason the government is as large as it is is because we made it that way. We did. We the people.

Take the time to read the plan, it's long but worth the time to note the similarities and the key differences between what was proposed then and the new plan. Remember, Democrats have been voting against this type of plan for 37 years.
Thanks for your Lisa Falkenberg Lesson.

Government gets its power from the consent of the governed. See Declaration of Independence. As James Madison stated, "Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations." This is how America has deteriorated from a constitutional republic into a legislative democracy. The American people have consented and accepted benefits, privileges and immunities and the only cost to Americans is the loss of their unalienable and inalienable rights.

I would highly recommend visiting this website for further in depth understanding:
http://www.pacinlaw.org/introduction.php

Here are a few quotes from the government that are enlightening:

"In this country, the law in effect in all but a few states until mid-19th century (mid 1800s) was the pre-existing English common law...It was not until after the War Between the States that legislation began generally to replace the common law." U.S. supreme Court - Roe v. Wade, 410 US 113 (1973)

"Its hardly lack of due process for government to regulate that which it subsidizes." Wickard v. Filburn, 317 US 111 (1942)

Read: House Joint Resolution (HJR) 192 when Congress abrogated the gold standard and made it public policy to discharge debts in equity rather than pay debts at law with gold and silver coin.

"The ultimate ownership of all property is in the state; individual so-called `ownership' is only by virtue of government, i.e., law, amounting to a mere user; and use must be in accordance with law and subordinate to the necessities of the State." - Senate Document No. 43, "Contracts payable in Gold" written in 1933.

Rights are grounded in property and property cannot be owned unless it is lawfully paid for; therefore Americans do not own property and they have no rights, they have privileges, immunities and benefits, which are voluntarily applied for which a contractual obligation to perform is created, which are the legislative rules and regulations that are attached to the benefit, privilege or immunity and if the participant rebels against their obligation to perform then the government applies force.

Here are a few quotes from the government that are enlightening:

“In this country, the law in effect in all but a few states until mid-19th century (mid 1800s) was the pre-existing English common law…It was not until after the War Between the States that legislation began generally to replace the common law.” U.S. supreme Court – Roe v.
“Its hardly lack of due process for government to regulate that which it subsidizes.” Wickard v. Filburn, 317 US 111 (1942)

Read: House Joint Resolution (HJR) 192 when Congress abrogated the gold standard and made it public policy to discharge debts in equity rather than pay debts at law with gold and silver coin.

“The ultimate ownership of all property is in the state; individual so-called `ownership' is only by virtue of government, i.e., law, amounting to a mere user; and use must be in accordance with law and subordinate to the necessities of the State.” – Senate Document No. 43, “Contracts payable in Gold” written in 1933.

Thank you for speaking up for our rights. I happen to be married to a physician and the healthcare bill is a train wreck! I have read every page. Americans have no idea what they would be in for with this plan. One of the obvious problems is most do not know history or have any idea what the Constitution says. They go by what they hear and see on the news or read in newspapers. They are mislead and misinformed by entities owned and operated by people in the Federal Governments back pocket.
Ask most people one general question to gain perspective on their ACTUAL knowledge of anything to do with the government- the question is who owns the FEDERAL RESERVE? They (most Americans) can not tell you the correct answer. Unless they google it.
They (politicians and lobbyists) ALL need to be thrown out of WASHINGTON!! We need to start from scratch! After every American takes and passes a test on the Constitution and American History- they MIGHT be QUALIFIED to VOTE!!!
