My hat's off to you for having the perseverance to even read the Monster. But I have a few comments with regard to your post & how you might get a little farther impressing your opinions upon your readers:

Why can't you use plain English instead of TM – it's shoddy & grossly UN-impressive. Maybe you've used TM for so long that you've forgotten how to write right?

I have no connection whatsoever to the FDA or medical device manufacturing. You obviously do not know what “postmarket device surveillance” is. It is NOT new, thank God! I have no connection whatsoever to the FDA or medical device manufacturing. But I do at least know what post-market device surveillance is. Would you like a pacemaker or artificial joint that your doctor, the FDA, & the manufacturer DID NOT watch for problems?

Think about it – If Toyota made pacemakers & you had one implanted in your chest keeping your heart a-pumping & no-one watched it for problems or reported any problems to a central surveillance entity, & one day the stupid thing accelerated & wouldn't quit firing at 300 jolts per minute, do you think you'd live for more than about 24 hours before your heart gave out from beating that fast? (Believe me, you probably wouldn’t even be able to dial 911 with your heart beating that fast.) How do you think they could get in touch with all the people who had Toyota pacemakers if they didn’t have a database? How many hundreds or thousands of people with Toyota pacemakers do you think would die before Toyota VOLUNTARILY took their out-of-control pacemakers off the market?

I agree the FDA is sometimes overly cautious & sometimes inadequately so. Sometimes FDA is so over-stretched that they are insufficiently so, these days particularly when it comes to inspection & surveillance of foreign drug manufacturers (a whole ‘nother subject).

Healthcare Quality: Look around on http://www.ahrq.gov & see if you think there aren’t government people who know about healthcare quality. I think they do a very good job. As an experienced RN (Registered Nurse) & CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) I ought to know. I also know there is never not room for improvement.

My point is this: Make sure you understand your subject before you post objections to it.

I think what I believe they did to seniors on Medicare Advantage should be prosecutable! I will be watching closely for care rationing, denials of efficacy-proven treatments, & delays in treatment. I think those are my greatest fears about the government taking over healthcare. In a nutshell- the quality of care will plummet & people will suffer & die because of that – in AMERICA no less! I will not be proud to be an American when that happens!

You have taken every possible misinterpretation of fact (and rest assured, you are severely distorting reality here) and put them forward as misinformation.

There isn't a single soul with a clear mind about this matter who hasn't read this and been convinced that your position on this is compromised by ignorance or greed.

Health care is good, take it from someone who not only enjoys it, but also meets countless Americans simply unable to pay their higher costs, or who have been victimized by your for-profit insurance providers.

Long after health care is brought into the U.S., people are going to remember you by this kind of dithering.
