The Art of Distraction Obama Style

I support HR 676. This legislation essentially obsoletes the HMO system and offers every American coverage via Medicare. The health care side is left to the private sector. It is the insurance aspect of health care that is addressed by HR 676. Medicare insurance would be extended to all Americans. The beauty thing with this arrangement is that the overhead associated with administering the Medicare program is in the 2-3% range, whereas in the HMO system (which President Obama's initiative keeps intact), overhead costs range upward of 30%.

HR 676 is said to provide “Single-Payer Health Care.” By way it substantially reduces overhead costs, the savings offer ability to extend health care to all Americans, as well as improve the quality of care.

The President does not support HR 676. Rather, his sense of American “tradition” has him believing private insurance companies and their high management costs are the better way to go. Silly man.

That the President's initiative offers financial tribute to the private firms whose actions over recent years have done so much to wreck the global financial system is spoken for by the fact that, CNBC, during the President's address before the AMA on Monday, June 15, 2009 broadcast the entirety of his speech without commercial interruption.

(And the voice of Gomer Pyle echoes in the background saying, “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”_

I frankly don't know where to start. Let me try to set a baseline and work from there. If tort reform was implemented and if Doctors were allowed to operate as they wish within a free market system then HR 676 would never be needed.

HR 676 is a nightmare waiting to happen:

1. Provides health care for foreign visitors.
2. It eradicates any private (shareholder-owned) company and in turn destroys the wealth of the shareholder.
3. The government will set salaries of the medical community as they see fit.
4. It fixes prices for services.
5. It implements global budgets for providers. This effectively says that once the budget is used then services cannot be provided. In other words – if the budget runs out then patients don't get treatment.

I could go on and on and in depth even more but I can safely say that if you wish to have substandard care, more people dying, and costs to explode then by all means endorse HR 676.

Let me address your reply point-by-point:

1. To site exceptions as cause for opposition is like fearing crossing the street because you might get hit by a car.

2. Not even Newt Gingrich is brazen enough to concern himself with shareholder value in times like these, when free market swindles have been proliferating with extreme detriment to both shareholder and citizen alike.

3. You mean the government would mandate that doctors work for slave labor wages like management at Wal Mart?

4. Are you saying doctors are incapable of acting competitively given constraints they will be required to operate under no matter the arrangement (even the present one)?

5. Site me an arrangement where some budgetary consideration does not enter into the picture, be it on the medical care side of the equation or on the patient side.

No need to go on and on. Libertarian opposition to the very calling of American government laid out in the U.S. Constitution's Preamble is a prolific social problem, and those of us who recognize how this expresses the philosophical mindset of that financial tyranny which to this day still backs the vile British Empire are keenly aware of the threat to liberty it represents.

On this note, let me just say that President Obama would do well to exhort the Congress to fully investigate the role the London office of AIG had in bringing that company and our country to its knees. There, indeed, is a most glaring case of your beloved “free market” (of which, in truth, there is no such thing, and never will be) running roughshod over a supposedly free people.

1. This is not an exception. This is a mandate to fund health care for non-US citizens. The crossing the street analogy does not fit at all.

2. When I'm talking shareholder value, it includes not only the direct shareholders but all the 401k holders whose plan invests in the healthcare industry. Wealth will be destroyed for everyone.

3. No I mean the government will dictate to the health care community what they are worth. As for the Wal-Mart non-sequitur it's just that.

4. No I'm saying the government is artificially fixing prices based on what they view as cost. This leaves the door wide open to costs of this program exponentially escalating and the government has a stellar record for increasing costs and waste.

5. That's not my point. By the government providing the only choice and by the government setting the budget then both physicians and patients have lost control of quality and costs.

Let's remember that health care is and never was a right when talking about the Constitution. What should be noted is the very programs the current Administration and Congress are implementing run roughshod over the liberty of all Americans.

You're awesome Peter. Keep up the good work. Seems like a hopeless situation on our hands and not much of a free future for our kids. But maybe people will wake up and smell the pork and start to do something about it. We can only hope.

There were many insurance options open to seniors until Medicare came along. Then, because it was cheaper than private plans, most folks opted for it. Once the private plans were driven out of business, Medicare started to raise its rates. This is an old strategy. The big chain stores used it to drive out smaller businesses; then they raised their prices. Cheaper foreign goods were used to undercut American products but when those were gone, the foreign goods raised their prices – but remained inferior in quality. This is what’s going to happen here, even if NONE of the devastating anti-freedom, anti-life, anti-American clauses were in it. Once government gets into the mix, you can kiss quality and cost-effectiveness goodbye.

If the President doesn’t want it (“I’m the PRESIDENT! This doesn’t apply to ME!!) and if Congress doesn’t want it, Americans should be getting the picture… how good can it be?? Socialized medicine doesn’t work. Ask that British actress who had the skiing accident in Canada. Oh, I’m sorry, you CAN’T ask her. She’s dead! And so are the rest of us if this Federal power grab goes through. Wake up, America!

I totally agree about critical thinking and allowing yourself to be distracted….it is our responsibility as citizens, to read between the lines and be aware of how the political machine works, on both sides…as both use the exact same techniques and tactics, although I must say, figuring out Obama is trying to nail jello to a tree….so you have to be hyper aware with him….I actually think, and Im not about conspiracy, that he set up that whole Gates thing so it would distract from healthcare…people were/are beginning to figure things out…I say this because he brought up working with the woman in Chicago, on racial profiling and included blacks and hispanics as being the victim of profiling…and then, as if on cue, the camera shows that woman who worked with Obama, sitting there in the front seat….his constituents are black and hispanic….so with upcoming votes in the house and senate….who better to stroke?

Rather, it has to do with control of the populace by our government in its implementation of world government priorities and policies. Controlling us is the objective. Medically, you ask? Yes, through the computerized medical history database that will be expanded ad infinitum. There are at least three ways to track and control citizens; 1. The drivers license (Id card) process. 2. The taxing process (income tax, property tax). 3. The medical history files that exist on all of us and which contain all sorts of personal information including family members, spouses and business partners. Insuring the uninsured is a much simpler process and only involves those who need health insurance but cannot afford it — only about 7% of the population, according to their own data, if illegals and those who can afford health insurance but choose to avoid it for personal reasons are excluded from the roles of the uninsured. The Real Id Act followed by Pass Id — the coming push for a national id card thereby violating states' rights but complying to UN standards, the 1040 log files and the medical history files all serve to equip our government to track our every move. Freedom loving Amercians must use the power of the vote to remove all democrat and republican party members from office as soon as possible. Only a nationwide removal of those responsible will redeem us now. The 2-party scam must be put out of business. We have a representative republic that demands people of noble character to serve their citizens. Only Christian patriots qualify, not political party pawns. However, due to the fact that the 2-party scam has locked-up the ballot processes in most states, there remains only one quick way to win this battle and that is to join the constitution party and demand they support and run only proven and dedicated Christian patriots. Put them on the ballot and watch how America responds when they see the rats running for cover. Believe it or not, I do not belong to any political party because they act to divide us as citizens, as families and as churches. Not a godly thing for us to do, so I don't support the basic premise of party membership. However, these are desperate times requiring desperate measures, so do the necessary thing and support those who will restore America to freedom and defeat Marxism.
